This year, we're pulling out all the stops. A 20-foot Christmas tree will light up the village outside, the calendar’s packed with quiz nights and Secret Santa fun, and our Christmas Boxes are back - ready for collection just before the big day. December’s shaping up to be something special.

Our Christmas Day Boxes
Our Christmas Boxes have become something of a local legend, allowing you to bring Michelin-quality dining to your own home on Christmas Day. We prepare your entire Christmas feast - starters, mains and desserts - ready for collection on the 23rd of December, with easy instructions to cook at home on the 25th of December. Sound good? You can enjoy the best Christmas day dinner in Ayrshire for £185 (feeds 4) or £280 (feeds 6). We might be the only restaurant in Scotland offering Michelin-quality food for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home on Christmas Day.
We've got extras if you want to push the boat out. Our beech-smoked Scottish salmon (£10 per 100g) is a beautiful accompaniment to the starters, and our bottled cocktails - including the Ginger Margarita, Bloody Spicy Mary and My Thai (500ml, £35-40) - mean you don't even have to play bartender. Sparkling, red and white wines are also available on request.

Our Christmas Menus For 2025
The Kirkmichael Arms is the best place to be in Ayrshire throughout December. It’s all about Christmas for us. Every Saturday and Sunday, our kitchen will be sending out the very best of Scottish dining, with special Christmas menus alongside our regular offerings.
One of our star attractions is the dry-aged Girvan beef - sourced from local cattle that graze just miles from our door, dry-aged to perfection for you to enjoy. But that is just the start of it. Our Christmas specials board features:

What is the Christmas Jumper Roast we hear you ask? Throw on your best (or worst) Christmas jumper and come join us for a delicious roast dinner. We'll have prizes for the most ridiculous knitwear, and the whole pub gets properly festive. It's become a bit of a tradition.

Festive Events & Pub Parties 2025
The Kirkmichael Arms comes alive in December with more than just incredible food. We're decking the halls properly this year, think cosy fires, festive decor, and a showstopping 20-foot Christmas tree outside that's already got the village talking.
But Christmas isn't just about the setting or the food for us. It's about bringing the community together. That's why we're hosting several events over the festive period, which you can learn more about below.
Secret Santa & Christmas Quiz Nights
Join us for two special quiz nights this festive season:
Thursday 28th November - Quiz Night & Secret Santa Name Draw (7 pm)
Our opening festive quiz night. Enter our Secret Santa draw tonight - £5 maximum spend, keep it fun. Bar bites and drinks all night long.
Thursday 19th December - Christmas Pub Party & Quiz (7 pm)
The big one. Our Christmas party quiz with the Secret Santa gift exchange, festive fancy dress is optional but encouraged, with prizes for best dressed. Expect a proper party atmosphere, with bar bites and drinks until late.
Both nights are free entry - we look forward to seeing you there!
Christmas Eve - Carols by Candlelight
We're working on something special for Christmas Eve - carols by candlelight with mulled wine and mince pies. A proper Christmas Eve experience for you to enjoy at The Kirkmichael Arms. Details still being finalised, so keep an eye on our socials for updates.
Christmas Jumper Roast
On Sunday 21st December, join us for our Christmas Jumper Roast. Rock up in your worst festive knitwear for all the usual Sunday roast goodness. The more outrageous the jumper, the better. Prizes for the worst offenders, and the whole pub really embraces the festive spirit.
